MOVES
________________________________
Every time you practice a new move, remember to practice it in both directions of twirl using both hands. Thus, every move has four basic variations.
A disc can twirl in two directions around your finger. These are defined, from the horizontal twirl position, as a clockwise and a counter-clockwise twirl. As one changes the angle of a clockwise twirl from the horizontal to the vertical position, it becomes a toward-the-face (as opposed to away-from-the-face twirl). If the angle is further changed into a UD twirl the horizontal clockwise twirl will become a UD counter-clockwise twirl.

The moves described above are known as keys. They are the basic principles behind any twirl performance and should be practiced individually at first. At all levels of Disctwirls, though, practitioners discover that the different moves easily and seamlessly combine and blend into one another. A horizontal twirl becomes a vertical twirl and then a UD twirl just by a 180 degree turn of the wrist. For performances, the true power of the Disctwirl style lies in how easy it is to develop a flow. Flow is the term denoting how well the performance is coordinated, i.e. how well the Disctwirl moves are combined and choreographed to the movements of the body in respect the music used.
